Good luck. Crocheting is a good time. I tried my hand at it at the end of last year, although I had to take a break from it because I got tennis elbow.

those are so pretty !!!!!! after a whole day of struggling with normal cotton yan i can't even imagine how u do it on such a small scale kudos to u
also it went very well !!!! had a nice time with my friend and was Veeery pleasantly suprised by the prices of the materials ^__^ pictured are the fruits of probably five or six hours of crocheting of which at least one was spent translating croshet terms from us english 2 norwegian and figuring out how a "magic ring" worked (my grandma had never heard of it so it didn't compute for any of us that it was even a technique before i failed spectacularly at starting the pattern) only downside is my eyes r very tired And one of the stitch markers broke so i'll have to buy a new one

i THINK so??? i usually pull my patterns from the internet (i never learned how to work with those written instructions, i need a chart that basically already shows the finished thing)
like 99% of the patterns i did had cyrillic letters and were old crusty scans, so i guess they fall under old slavic crochets? i'm not a slavic expert, i just see a grandma looking lace doily pattern online and go apeshit
if you have any more info on those kind of crochets, do let me know! i'd love to try out more

LOVE the color on that yarn! glad you had fun even though the eyestrain is REAL with crocheting
i've never heard of stitch markers before by what i can find on google, they look super handy (and some super cute) tho! how do you use them exactly?

oh they r definitely super handy !! when i have 2 do long rows i use them 2 mark how many stitches i've done, usually every tenth or twentieth stitch so i don't accidentally lose count and don't have tp count from the beginning every time, and right now while i'm a lot of rows i mark the start of each row so i don't get lost and know when i've come full circle again so i don't have to figure out ehich row i'm on all the time (also when i'm not crocheting i put the marker into the open loop so it doesn't unravel itself while i'm gone u can see that in the pic below)
2day i finished the pouch (except for the leaves but i'll do them later) and i started on the bag itself! lots of rows so u can see my marker under my hook assigning the end of the third row

realising that i might have to redo the entire project bc the pouch is too small (i think i used too thick yarn for the net ?) but it’s my first project ever so i’m cutting myself some slack and not freling bad ab it because honestly it isn’t that bad either
before i do that though i’m gonna try to add some rows to the pouch to see if i can salvage it (make it bigger)

@8bitdyke that pouch came out/is coming out so good! love the net structure, it looks very even (when starting crocheting i had huge issues with keeping the patterns even, the knots were either too tight or too loose) congrats on your wonderfully orange not-wonky pouch, 10/10 would also wear as a hat
