I hope I put this in the right category. Anyway, I'm a huge book lover. Love reading fantasy, also other genres. My IF account mostly revolves around books and the book community on there. One of the folks I follow also had a BookTube channel and he made the following video.
https://youtu.be/0i8lkkV3OnQIt's a critical video about the bonus chapters spread about various edition of the latest (?) book by Sarah J. Maas. I personally don't read SJM so I only just found out this is a thing. Library of a Viking, the one who made this video, found a few more examples.
I have nothing against limited editions, but this? I find this absolutely shitty. Imagine having to buy the limited editions of the same book multiple times just to get the whole experience! This is not only a shitty way to get people to fork over more money, but also blatantly encourages needless overconsumption.
If this catches on, it'd absolutely suck for readers.
