yeah i was thinking about the same but i figured it best to get all the code set up and then plug in all the assets afterward, just seems more effective in my mind. also thank you i like the bg too, but thats also mostly just a placeholder until i plan out the actual layout considering its just the scrolling castle stars from Undertale (might make my own stars too idk, it is pretty nice)
we had an empty neocities page for a long time now, kept forgetting to work on it. now that with people here mentioning it we thought we would finally work on it, till we realised we have no idea how we want it to look like or what to even put there lol. know nothing about html either so we're really lost. i feel like if we end up getting an idea of what to put there it would be too ambitious for us to actually execute. do you guys have any tips for starters?

some good simple/starter ideas are pages/sections of a website to talk about your interests! shrines for instance are a good simple thing to try out, as they can be small or complex. another simple one would be an entrance page (ie small simple "enter site" button page).
some practical uses for a website could always be a place to show your art (portfolio site) or similar, although that might take a bit more work depending on how complex you want it to be ^^
overall i would suggest looking at various tutorials as well! they can be good resources to try out little ideas

i'll send a lil list of resources i've found on my search oho, might add onto it later ^^
I followed this starter tutorial at first! It helped me generally understand the syntax/layout of HTML and CSS.
If you want to use a custom font/typeface on your website, go check this out!
Actually, this site in general just has a lot of tutorial resources. Great for starting out!
I actually used a resource from someone on this here forum recently! ocpdzim's site has a section that serves as a blank version of it's site, where you can use inspect element to see how it's structured. I used it recently to make a pop-up window for accessibilities sake when opening my own site.

does anyone know how to like, make posts on there, on your page? without always copying the html code for each page?

w3schools.com is a great resource for coding. The html and css pages are pretty helpful.
As fir Neocities, I just registered my username there. I'm considering to make an art website there. I also really love talking about books, but maybe reviving my blog is better suited for that.

I’m not sure this is possible, but something I find makes it easier to copy the HTML is to save an empty version of it in notepad to use instead of having to copy it from another post and delete everything from the original post every time.

Also, here are my websites! I thought I had them in my signature but for some reason my signature didn't show up in that last post?
